About Us
Kaye Presteigne combines a wealth of expertise in both high pressure and gravity
die-casting processes and provides a full range of machining and assembly
operations.
The high pressure foundry operates 16 machines from 200 to 750 tonne and
produces castings ranging in weight from 5 grammes to 5 kilo's. In addition the
gravity casting facility includes a fully automated in line gravity plant,
capable of producing more than one million castings per year.
There has been a Die-casting Foundry on the
same site at Presteigne for more than 60 years !
A Brief History.
The Foundry started in1940, producing zinc castings. In 1948, the Brockhouse
Group acquired the business, which enabled considerable expansion into aluminium
casting, and machining.
In 1979 the foundry was re-equipped with Italpresse die-casting machines and in
1980 was further augmented with the addition of the gravity die-casting
facility.
Then, during the 1990s the existing 200 tonne and 400 tonne machines were
replaced and the foundry area was doubled with the addition of an automated
gravity die-casting line and three 750 tonne die-casting cells. Also, in 1999,
the new machine shop was commissioned by the then new owners JL French
Automotive Castings Inc.
In 2006, when the Parent Company experienced trading difficulties, the
Presteigne division was sold and subsequently reverted to the original company
name of Kaye Presteigne.
The company has always been at the forefront of innovative advances in
manufacturing techniques, building a strong reputation for technological
developments within the die-casting industry.
Now, with its expertise in high pressure and gravity die-casting, precision
machining and assembly, the company is focussed on developing long term
relationships with its customers in all sectors of industry. Kaye Presteigne
continues to ensure its commitment to total customer satisfaction.
